Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA) will seek to sell three campus buildings to local buyers, WCAX reported.
The school recently agreed to sell the Crowley Center, Gary Library and Martin House to a group of business owners called “150 Main Street.” The intention of the buyers is to convert the buildings into a health and wellness center.
“We’re excited that these buildings will be able to remain in some productive use for the community and not sit idle and be active and bring vibrancy to this neighborhood,” said Montpelier City Manager Bill Fraser.
The VCFA recently withdrew the request to change the zoning criteria. And in 2022, the low-residency college announced plans to move its summer residency program to Colorado College.
