The IMT MSc Department of Informatics of the International Hellenic University launches Metaverse Space
IMT MSc is proud to announce the release of the Metaverse IMT Virtual Reality Space, a revolutionary ecosystem consisting of a three-story virtual world with eight interior spaces that allow IMT students to interact and engage with external media in a fully immersive environment.
The Metaverse IMT Virtual Reality Space is a virtual learning ecosystem consisting of a three-story central space with eight internal rooms (i.e., secretariat, collaboration area, auditorium, etc.) that allow IMT students to interact with each other as well as with external learning spaces. resources (e.g. through the library).
Through automated bots, students can learn about other students’ innovative projects or IMT graduate theses, attend a lecture in a virtual space auditorium, make an appointment with a secretary or a student advisor, collaborate with each other in a collaborative area, or create an educational activity in the area VR microteaching to build your competencies as metaversion teachers.
Using the open space (IMT Open VR space), students and visitors can take a walk in the park or choose a VR sports activity to relax.
In addition, on the three floors of the IMT central space, visitors have the opportunity to learn about the innovative efforts of the Department of Informatics and explore the website of the International Hellenic University (first floor), or experiment with VR and AR games. students of the department by reaching the second floor.
It is worth noting that IMT is the only MSc in Greece and in Europe that has all its educational services available in the metaverse.
IMT therefore received an honorable mention from Microsoft’s Director of Education for Greece, Cyprus and Malta, Mr. Ioannis Anastasopoulos.

Being able to explore the features and possibilities provided through the Metaverse IMT virtual reality space, which is created as part of the innovative xR technologies of the metaverse IMT MSc of the International Hellenic University, the presented experience is both gratifying and inspiring. Seamless movement between the three-story virtual world as it unfolds in the user’s presence provides a unique experience in terms of a wide variety of academic service options as well as recreation and social activities.
Teleporting to all spaces, indoors and outdoors, using features like file sharing or connecting to web projectors, even amazing things like reflecting a virtual image through mirrors, enhances the experience and takes it to the next level.
The amazing thing is that all these experiences have been mapped and adapted into a meaningful area for academic and educational purposes, which I feel absolutely passionate about and which I believe will make a breakthrough in this technological field.
